Sergio Calligaris was an Argentinian pianist, composer, and piano teacher, known for his brilliant technique and powerful touch typical of the Leschetizky school. His repertoire included romantic and post-romantic works, and he had a successful career as a performer starting at the age of thirteen. Beyond performance, Calligaris was a prolific composer, with early works like Renzo's piano notebook, Op. 7 gaining wide acclaim. He won the International Prize 'Giuseppe Verdi' in 2007 and taught music in the United States and Italy.
