More about Rod Stewart
Roderick David Stewart was born on 10 January 1945 in Highgate, North London, as the youngest of five children. His Scottish father Robert was a master builder and his English mother Elsie lived in Edinburgh before moving to Highgate. Stewart had a passion for model railways and football. He left school at 15 and pursued football before committing to music. Stewart's musical career began in the 1960s, and he gained fame as a distinctive rock and pop singer with a raspy voice. His hits include 'Maggie May', 'Tonight's the Night', and 'Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?'. Stewart was honored with inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame both as a solo artist and as a member of Faces.
