Pascal Proust, born in 1959, attended school in Orléans and then joined the Paris Conservatoire in 1974, where he secured three first prizes in 'Solfege spécialisé', French horn, and chamber music. In 1985, he received the third prize in the prestigious International Toulon Competition. His career includes performances with the Philharmonistes de Chateauroux, the Ars Nova ensemble, and the Quintette à vent de Paris. Proust also possesses a teaching diploma and presently instructs horn and chamber music at the conservatoires of Orleans and Montreuil. Furthermore, he's an editor for Editions Combre's horn works and an author of his two-volume teaching method 'J'apprends le cor', studies for horn and piano, and a variety of other compositions for different instruments.
