Nicolaus A. Huber is a renowned German composer born on 15 December 1939 in Passau. His educational journey in music began at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München from 1958 to 1962, focusing on music education and later on composition with Franz Xaver Lehner and Günter Bialas. Further advancing his artistic development, he studied with notable figures such as Josef Anton Riedl, Karlheinz Stockhausen, and most significantly, Luigi Nono. Huber's teaching career spanned from 1974 until his retirement in 2003, where he served as a Professor of Composition at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen. His works are distinguished by vocal and linguistic experimentation, a rigorous approach to eradicating tonality, and political awareness, influenced by his studies with Stockhausen and Nono.
