Martin Bussey

Martin Bussey, a multi-faceted musician, is not only a composer but also a conductor. His compositions showcase his deep passion for vocal music, ranging from accessible works to those posing significant challenges. In addition, Bussey possesses an extensive repertoire of instrumental pieces, with a focus on organ and piano music, reflecting his profound interest in history, literature, and the Cheshire-Shropshire-Wales borderlands region. A noted educational figure, Bussey previously led the choral and aural academic music programs at Chetham's School of Music. He now directs the Chester Bach Singers and the Cantiones Choir of Oswestry, teaches voice at Manchester University, holds chairmanship with the Finzi Friends, serves as a director of Ludlow English Song, and is a trustee of Kantos Choir.
