Justin Hurwitz (born January 22, 1985) is an American film composer and television writer, renowned for his collaborations with director Damien Chazelle on films like 'La La Land', for which he won two Oscars for Best Original Score and Best Original Song. Raised in Wisconsin from 1998, Hurwitz is the son of Gail, a nurse and former ballet dancer, and Ken Hurwitz, a writer. His Jewish heritage traces back to Russia, Poland, Syria, and Lebanon.
