Irving Mills

Irving Harold Mills (born Isadore Minsky; January 18, 1894 – April 21, 1985) was an American music publisher, musician, lyricist, and jazz promoter. Known for his pseudonyms Goody Goodwin and Joe Primrose, Mills played a pivotal role in the jazz music industry, not only advancing the careers of numerous noted musicians but also promoting the integration of black and white musicians. His founding of Mills Music, Inc. and his management of iconic figures like Duke Ellington left a lasting impact on the genre.
