Gordon Crosse

Gordon Crosse was an English composer born on 1 December 1937 in Bury, Lancashire. He graduated from St Edmund Hall, Oxford with a first class honours degree in music in 1961, and started an academic career with posts at the Universities of Birmingham, Essex, Cambridge, and California. He received the Cobbett Medal for services to music in 1976. After teaching part-time at the Royal Academy of Music in London, he retired to Suffolk to compose full-time. He passed away on 21 November 2021.
