Giovanni Giorgio Moroder, born 26 April 1940, is an Italian composer and music producer hailed as the 'Father of Disco'. Moroder's pioneering work with synthesizers influenced various music genres, including hi-NRG, Italo disco, synth-pop, new wave, house, and techno. He founded Oasis Records, which became a part of Casablanca Records, and the Musicland Studios in Munich, famous for its array of artist clientele. Moroder produced hit singles for Donna Summer and composed scores for films like Midnight Express and The NeverEnding Story. Winning three Academy Awards and four Golden Globes, along with multiple Grammy Awards, he was inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame in 2004.
