More about Geoffrey Burgon
Geoffrey Alan Burgon (15 July 1941 – 21 September 2010) was an English composer renowned for his television and film scores. His notable works include scores for 'Monty Python's Life of Brian,' 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy,' and 'Brideshead Revisited,' with the latter two earning him Ivor Novello Awards. He achieved acclaim with his vocal, orchestral, and stage works. His Requiem, premiered at the Three Choirs Festival in 1976, cemented his reputation, affording him numerous commissions. Burgon's conservative style, influenced by Britten and medieval music, made his compositions accessible and appreciated by a wide audience.
