Best known for his Broadway musicals like Bye Bye Birdie, Applause, and Annie, he's won numerous Tony Awards and is celebrated for songs that became standards in the industry. Strouse studied with prominent figures such as Aaron Copland and Nadia Boulanger before achieving his first major success with Bye Bye Birdie in 1960.
