Alfred Koerppen (16 December 1926 – 5 July 2022) was a German organist, music pedagogue, composer, and academic teacher. He taught composition and music theory at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover from 1948 to 1991. Born in Wiesbaden, he was the son of conductor August Koerppen. He began composing while in school and continued to develop his craft after World War II. Koerppen's contributions include a vast range of choral music, symphonies, chamber pieces, and stage works. His last composition, a cantata titled In Paradisum, was premiered in 2021 when he was 94 years old.
