More about Adriano Guarnieri
Adriano Guarnieri is an Italian composer renowned for his contributions to contemporary classical music. Born in Sustinente, Italy, he completed his studies in musical composition and choral music at the Bologna Conservatory, under Giacomo Manzoni and Tito Gotti, respectively. Guarnieri also established the Nuovo Ensemble Bruno Maderna in Florence and commenced his career as a conductor. Beyond performance, he instructed in musical composition at various conservatories including Milan, Florence, Pesaro, and Bologna. His early works signify a structuralist approach, later evolving to a more informal style, paying greater attention to form. His opera 'Trionfo della notte' was celebrated with the Premio Abbiati for the best composition of the year. A deep connection with Pier Paolo Pasolini's poetics is evident in his later works like 'Romanza alla notte' No. 2 for violin and orchestra and 'Il glicine'. Other notable works include 'Medea', for which he received the Premio Abbiati for novelties in 2003.
