Hallelujah

Violin Solo

Stringstop (E-Partners)

Although ‘Hallelujah’ was written and first recorded by Leonard Cohen in 1984, hundreds of more recent covers by other artists have really established the song’s fame. Here Rachel Jennings has arranged the piece for string quartet. Rather than adhering to the more familiar structure of ‘Hallelujah’, this Stringshop version has drawn a range of fragments from the song and developed them in various ways to create a unique arrangement. With its parts featuring harmonics, pizzicato, different bowing techniques, and carefully worked dynamics, this title will help each of the players develop a wide range of skills.
