Esa Ylönen

Esa Ylönen (Finland) graduated from the Sibelius Academy with a Master's degree in 1995. He then went to qualify as a church musician. He is nowadays accompanist at the Kotka Region Music Institute. Esa has appeared extensively both in Finland and abroad. In 2013 the Finnish Alba Records label released a world premiere disc by him with violinist Sirkku Mantere of works for piano and violin by Uuno Klami. Esa has also contributed to many other recordings. He is Chairman of the Uuno Klami Society. In 2017 Finland's biggest music publisher, Fennica Gehrman, published a collection edited by him of piano works by Klami and in 2018, arrangements by him for organ of Klami piano pieces and Sibelius's Andante Festivo. Esa Ylönen was voted the most positive resident of his home city, Kotka in 2011.
