Mack Gordon, originally Morris Gittler, was an American lyricist renowned for his contributions to stage and film. His extensive career includes being nominated nine times for the best original song Oscar over 11 years and winning once with "You'll Never Know", which, along with songs like "At Last", has remained a classic. Born in Grodno, then part of the Russian Empire, he migrated to New York in 1907. His partnership with Harry Revel in the 1930s and collaborations with other composers in the 1940s marked a prolific period.
