Franco Donatoni

Franco Donatoni was an influential Italian composer, born in Verona. He began studying the violin at seven and attended the local music academy. He continued his studies at the Milan Conservatory and later at the Bologna Conservatory. Donatoni was a prominent teacher whose pupils included multiple generations of composers from Italy and abroad. His style evolved over the years, embracing serialism and later a more complex and idiosyncratic approach. Donatoni passed away in Milan in 2000.
