Slayer

Slayer was an American thrash metal band formed in 1981 in Huntington Park, California. Comprising guitarists Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman, drummer Dave Lombardo, and bassist/vocalist Tom Araya, the band's fast and aggressive style placed them among the 'big four' bands of thrash metal. Slayer's music, known for covering themes like serial killers, war, and religion, has been both controversial and influential. They released twelve studio albums, won two Grammy Awards, and sold over 20 million records worldwide. After a final tour in 2018-2019, Slayer disbanded.
