The Commodores

Commodores, an American funk and soul band, reached peak fame in the late 1970s and early 1980s with hits such as 'Easy,' 'Three Times a Lady,' and 'Nightshift.' They formed at Tuskegee University in 1968, signed with Motown in 1972, and opened for the Jackson 5. They won a Grammy and sold over 70 million albums worldwide. Notable members included Lionel Richie and Walter 'Clyde' Orange. Post-Richie, they continued to enjoy success with songs like 'Nightshift,' a tribute to music legends.
