James Whitbourn (born 1963) is a British composer and conductor known for his direct connection with audiences. His notable works include 'Son of God Mass', 'Annelies', and 'The Seven Heavens'. He began his career at the BBC, producing many award-winning programmes, and his compositions have been performed worldwide. Whitbourn has received international acclaim, including three GRAMMY nominations. He is also involved in academia as a Senior Research Fellow at St. Stephen's House, University of Oxford, and as Director of Music at St Edmund Hall, Oxford since April 2020【27†source】.
