Stevland Hardaway Morris, better known as Stevie Wonder, was born on May 13, 1950, in Saginaw, Michigan. Blind shortly after birth, Wonder was a prodigious talent who joined Motown at age 11. Known for his musical innovation and influential performances across R&B, pop, soul, gospel, funk, and jazz, Wonder's use of synthesizers in the 1970s transformed contemporary R&B. His 1970s hits like 'Superstition' solidified his fame, with three albums winning consecutive Album of the Year Grammys. Remaining musically and politically active, he has 25 Grammy Awards and was named a UN Messenger of Peace.
