TESTIMONIALS

I’m tremendously excited to think of young singers without direct access to classical music training using this application.

Joyce DiDonato

Singers

nkoda is really clever; it's like a view into the future of making music.

Sir Simon Rattle

Conductor

In the introduction to the piece, dedicated to Michael Faust, the flute ""scans"" a striking tonal figure in the style of a ""free sound speech"". In the main section, Höller makes use of the second meaning of the title by ""scanning"" the 22-note sound shape, examining the effectiveness and development of its individual parts, taking it apart and screening it. The time shape - the sequence of bars - and metre are derived from the elemental form of the sound shape, which takes on the meaning of the compositional structure of a ""cantus firmus"" underneath the score.
