Born on 29 August 1963 in Mönchengladbach. 1983-86 initially violin studies at Folkwang Hochschule. 1986-92 composition studies with Nicolaus A. Huber. 1990-92 studies of computer music with Dirk Reith, summer courses with Tristan Murail, Marco Stroppa, James Dillon and others. Special prize of the jury for the orchestral piece ... durch die Reinheit der Substanz ist es, was es ist, Wege zu suchen ... at the FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL DE MUSIQUE DE BESANÇON 1994 first prize at the competition "Musikpreis des NDR" for the same piece 1995-96 scholarship of the DAAD for a stay at the ATELIERS UPIC in Paris, courses on computer music at the Université Paris VIII with Horacio Vaggione 1996 invitation to the Session de Composition in Royaumont/Paris, led by Brian Ferneyhough, Klaus Huber and Xu Shuya, with support of the Foundation for Art and Culture of North Rhine-Westphalia 1999 paper on music and politics in the music of Hans Werner Henze and Luigi Nono 2003 participation in the project “The exoticism of the other” in Tokyo invitation to Yoshiro Irino Institute of Music. Since 2011 he is member of the Gruppe für experimentelle Musik und Medienkunst (GEMART) in Hannover From 2013-2016 he is chairman of the Berliner Gesellschaft für Neue Musik collaboration inter alia with ensemble L’itineraire, ensemble Köln, Ensemble Mosaik, NDR Sinfonieorcheste and Deutsches Sinfonieorchester Berlin.
