Jiaqi Liu

Jiaqi Liu was born in 2002 in Beijing, China, it is perhaps fortunate that the young Jiaqi was attracted to music from a tender age. He received his first musical training on piano when five years old, ten years later he won the first place in his entrance exams and enrolled in Central Conservatory of Music Middle School as a composition major. He is a student composer and pianist, whose music was described as “truly a virtuosic compositions and is of the utmost passion and excitement, quite dazzling, and stimulating” ( judges of US Golden Key Composition Competition) and "your music has a lot of great artistic quality level at which these my sincere congratulations!"(judges of Serbia Donne In Musica International Composition Contest) and “best regards and compliments for your brilliant technique performance” ( judges of Italy Don Vincenzo Vitti Piano Competition). Jiaqi Liu's recent musical honors and awards include: work PLAYING IN THE WOODS for piano solo was selected as one of the six works entering the final in Call For Score for the 2nd Beijing Fryderyk Chopin International Youth Piano Competition (2019); work FAIRYLAND for octet won the second prize in 9th Italy Amigdala International Composition Competition chamber music (2019); work FRONTIER IN GALES for piano solo won LAUREAT Prize in Serbia XV Donne in Musica International Composition Contest (2018); the work A CLOWN IN JUGGLING was selected in the program of "Muzica in vivo" International Concerts in Belgrade and Kragujevac (2018). He was awarded the second prize of the Professional group in the Piano Competition of Beijing Secondary Vocational Art Colleges (2019); the gold award in Open Classes group of the 1st Haydn International Piano Competition Beijing area (2018); the third place of group C in the 8th Steinway Youth Piano Competition of Beijing final, advanced to the national finals (2017); the first prize in youth group D of “Hummingbird Music Award” of Chinese Youth Piano Competition Beijing area and the second prize in the national final (2017); the gold award for the Closing Concert of 2017 Beijing Piano Music Festival (2017); the first place in primary school group of the 18th Beijing Student Art Festival Piano Competition, awarded “Star of Art” honor by Beijing Municipal Education Commission (2015). He often participates in public performances and activities. In November 2018, invited by Steinway Piano Asia Pacific Co. Ltd., he attended the opening ceremony of Steinway 165th Anniversary - Steinway's Rare Treasure Collection of Pianos Exhibition. He played his own piece, DongShiShui on a rare and treasured piano for guests and journalists from throughout the world.
