More about Carl Czerny
Carl Czerny was an Austrian composer, teacher, and pianist of Czech origin, prominent in the late Classical and early Romantic eras. Known for over a thousand works, his piano studies remain valuable in teaching. Beethoven's pupil, he also taught Liszt. Born in Vienna, he dazzled early as a prodigy, performing publicly at age nine. His teaching method, influenced by Beethoven and Muzio Clementi, reached Vienna's nobility. Latterly, he composed prolifically, particularly for piano, leaving a vast unpublished estate to charity and music societies.
